Motions - Running From You

Rising Post-Metal Powerhouse, Motions, released their thunderous new single "Running From You" on 21st February 2025.

Motions are a four-piece melodic metal act from Teesside, blending a "Deftones-esque sound with a modern metalcore twist," forging a unique identity that sets them apart in the music industry. Their latest release, "Running From You," is yet another epic feat, delivering thunderous drums and bass, gritty vocals, and grunge-laced guitar riffs with an anthemic edge. The Deftones influence is undeniable, yet Motions have masterfully crafted something truly their own—bold, powerful, and utterly stunning.

The band state:

"Running from You’ is a letter to the self, and a meditation on the compulsive urge to stray from our true selves in fear of failure. It explores the pressure we all feel to be the best version of ourselves as the negative, intrusive thoughts take hold. We structured the track in a way that would emphasise these emotions, with the juxtaposition of brutal verses  and soaring choruses as symbolising the internal battle.”

Motions shared that while writing and recording "Running From You," they drew inspiration from both classic and contemporary bands. Their deep appreciation for Deftones shines through, seamlessly fused with the modern intensity of acts like Static Dress and Knocked Loose. This, combined with a powerful message, makes the track something truly special—an unmissable release that demands to be heard.

Novacaine Rating: 10/10

"With every release, our love for Motions grows even stronger. I truly believe this is a band destined for the big time in the not-too-distant future."
