As we approach the end of 2024, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what has truly been an incredible, rollercoaster year for all of us at Novacaine.
We started the year with uncertainty hanging over us, coming perilously close to the heartbreaking decision to close our doors. Then, mid-year, everything changed. Attending Download Festival 2024 and witnessing electrifying performances from bands like Shadow Smile and Fates Hollow reignited my passion for music. It reminded me why Novacaine exists: to support and celebrate the artists who pour their hearts into their craft. That spark of inspiration gave me the clarity and determination to pursue a dream I’ve held for years—to create a music festival dedicated to showcasing and uplifting rising artists from around the world.
Now, as the year draws to a close, I’m thrilled to share that this dream is becoming a reality. Novacaine is evolving, and we’re setting the stage—both literally and figuratively—for something extraordinary. Our vision is to build a vibrant community where artists and fans unite, support one another, and celebrate the music that brings us together.
But it’s important to remember that Novacaine is just one piece of a much larger puzzle. While we take pride in the work we do to help make a positive impact, the true magic lies with the artists. These incredible individuals dedicate countless hours to crafting their art, sharing their stories, and inspiring the world. They are the heartbeat of this industry, and we’re honoured to play a role in amplifying their voices.
Thanks to you, our incredible readers, we’ve had the opportunity to partner with some of the industry’s leading experts, bringing even more amazing artists to our platform. This year, we’re excited to welcome collaborations with Atom Splitter PR, Cobra Promotions, Sickset Media, Napalm Records and The Metallist PR—each representing some truly outstanding bands.
But that’s not all! Your unwavering support has also enabled us to join forces with incredible organizations like Pins and Knuckles, San PR, The Moshville Times, BSB TV, and Start The Penguin Photography as we prepare for the highly anticipated Novacaine Festival 2025.
We would be remiss not to acknowledge the incredible support we received for the First Edition of Novacaine Magazine. Witnessing how many of you enjoyed our debut digital release was truly humbling. Collaborating with amazing artists like The Five Hundred, Major Moment, Broken Empire, khost, and Black Lesion felt nothing short of surreal. At the same time, we had the pleasure of welcoming our new writer, Sam Parkin, whose insightful and compelling reviews have been a standout addition to our team.
None of this would be possible without you, and we’re so grateful to have you on this journey with us.
Now, as we approach the new year, we look forward to the future, and we cannot wait to start our next adventure with you.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Here's to 2025!
Pssst, we're working on the official Novacaine New Music Awards!
