Symphonic metal pirates VISIONS OF ATLANTIS embark to the high seas once again! After hitting the Top 20 on the German album charts with their most confident and honest full length so far, Pirates, the fulminant release of their third live album, Pirates Over Wacken, earlier this year, and extensive touring throughout the US and Europe, the multinational five piece doesn’t stop to rest. On December 1, 2023, they’ll release an exclusive orchestral-only version of their successful album, Pirates, under the title of A Pirate’s Symphony, via Napalm Records.
The band invites listeners to join them on a marvelous ride through intriguing soundscapes and hauntingly beautiful melodies, along with symphonic heaviness. But this time, this is done without vocals, without drums - and even without guitars. The quintet let the symphonic beauty of the music stand for itself, once again showcasing a different side of themselves by embodying a form of transition and self-discovery. The excellent orchestrations were carefully created by Lukas Knoebel and can now shine in their very own light displaying every single detail of this symphonic masterpiece offering a score-like experience.
A Pirate’s Symphony lifts the anchor with the epic opener “Pirates Will Return” enabling the listener to discover the depth of the orchestration luring into the darkness and vastness of the sea. VISIONS OF ATLANTIS manage to create their very own incomparable universe of symphonic brilliance and A Pirate’s Symphony allows their fans to experience this in it’s purest form. Well-known songs like the mighty ”Melancholy Angel”, charging “Wild Elysium” and majestic “Master The Hurricane” shine in another light flowing seamlessly into each other creating one majestic symphony presenting them with more emotional depth. At times this experience can be more romantic and intimate like on rousing “Clocks” but turning over in the next moment to soaring epicness letting the raw power of dramatic choirs and heavy orchestration stand for itself. A Pirate’s Symphony reaches the harbor with mesmerizing “I Will Be Gone”, building up the orchestral climax accented by harmonizing flutes and bagpipes, delivered by no less than FEUERSCHWANZ virtuoso Ben Metzner, who joins also on “In My World”, “Master the Hurricane” and “Heal The Scars”.
This emotive twelve track experience allows both metal enthusiasts and movie scores lovers to experience a cinematic and passionate adventure that lets you taste the salt of the sea in the air and embrace the wilderness that only true pirates know!
