The Rising Kings of Oxford, Broken Empire, are making a triumphant return with their brand new single "Will You Wake Me", independently released on 29th November 2024.
The band told us about the new single:
"The song touches on the mental state you can find yourself in when you feel "trapped inside your own head", struggling to see past what needs to be done and feeling stuck inside a self possessed cage. The main hook line of "Will You Wake Me" sends a powerful message that whether it's someone close to you or whether you can rally yourself out of this cage, you just need to awaken from the inner fire and burst free from the shackles that are binding you"
Novacaine Rating: 10/10
'Will You Wake Me" marks the first release from the band since 2022 debut album "Before The Fall" which features iconic tracks such as "Disguise", "Before The Fall" and "Valediction", a 12 track debut which left us in awe and leaving the name "Broken Empire" forever imprinted in our memories, which is exactly why we needed to book them for Novacaine Festival 2025.
The new single, is no different from the album. and I don't mean that in terms of it sounds the same, I mean that as in it is a single release that I quite simply cannot forget. Ever since the YouTube release, I have not been able to stop listening to this track, and from the moment it is released on Spotify, it'll be immediately added to my daily playlist. It's catchy, it's gritty, it sets my soul alight and it speaks from the heart, it's exactly how I want to feel when checking out new tracks.
Broken Empire blow me away everytime they release something new, and with the release of "Will You Wake Me", I can only but imagine what these guys will bring with their second album in 2025.
I want to wrap this up with a heartfelt thank you to Broken Empire. These legends have stood by us since our inception in 2019, and their support has meant the world to us. We’re beyond excited to see them light up the stage at Novacaine Festival 2025—it’s going to be nothing short of epic!
