KURO - Circling The Drain EP

Impressible Scottish alt-metallers KURO unleash a vicious new sound: filthy riffs, hammering beats, and an electrifying electronic edge that hits as hard as it hooks. Their engrossing new EP, Circling The Drain, lands Friday 3rd October, preceded by the stomping new single and video, No Exit.

Hailing from Glasgow and forged in the fires of post-lockdown discontent, KURO creates an In-Your-Face alternative metal sound combined from a whirlwind of influences — varying from the gritty rock mastery of Nine Inch Nails to the bounce of the nu-metal era with bands like Limp Bizkit and topped off with the modern flair of the likes of Spiritbox. The result is a sonic and visual assault that is utterly their own.

Fronted by enigmatic vocalist Kuro, and completed by guitarist Robbie McAllister, bassist J.B. Storm, and drummer Ruffy, the band has already shared stages with electro-metal legends, Combichrist, and rising rockers, Marisa And The Moths. Their live shows are a riot of energy and genre-defying appeal—pulling in fans from across the metal, industrial, and alternative spectrums.

Following the success of their 2024 EP Social Venality—which culminated in a sold-out hometown headline show—Circling The Drain marks a fierce evolution. “This EP is the pinnacle of our growth,” says KURO. “We DIY recorded it with producer Pieter Rietkerk and landed on a solid, antagonistic alt-metal sound we’re proud of—lyrically it speaks to the anxiety of trying to thrive in a relentlessly unstable world.”

With prominent festival appearances, including Rockmantic, already in the bag, and a UK Autumn tour plus European festivals on the horizon, KURO are not just circling the drain—they're rising fast.

Novacaine Rating: 10/10

"KURO — I’m speechless. No Exit is f*cking phenomenal, a collision of Chaoseum’s darkness, Limp Bizkit’s swagger, and Pendulum’s pulse. It’s pure, controlled chaos in its most addictive form. If this track is any clue, their live shows aren’t just going to bring the storm — they’ll be the storm."

EP track listing:

1. Closing In;

2. No Exit;

3. I Hate You;

4. Insane;

5. Opium.
