SHINEDOWN NEW SINGLE 'PLANET ZERO' REVIEW

Florida's legendary rock act, Shinedown, has unleashed a beastly brand new single 'Planet Zero' on 26th January 2022 from their upcoming album due to be released later this year.

First Impressions

This track absolutely slaps. The fact this is only the first single from the upcoming album and it's an absolute belter, tells us the album is going to be absolutely mental. It has all the usual Shinedown elements, catchy lyrics, out of this world vocals, electrifying guitars and a beat that makes you want to stamp your feet and head bang to your hearts content. The band are definitely going back to their darker lyrics, but when they do it really slaps like a b*tch!

Comparisons to ATTENTION ATTENTION

ATTENTION ATTENTION is one of my favourite albums from Shinedown, but I mean most of them are to be honest, each release is incredible and with every release the bands sound just keeps getting more and more explosive, it would not surprise me if they headline festivals such as Download Festival UK in the very near future.

The ATT ATT album was insane and still get daily plays here at Rock Lifestyle UK. However, this new track 'Planet Zero' is something else. Shinedown know how to blend their heavy sound with a more rock n roll flow but it would seem this album the group are leaning more towards heavy and I don't think this is going to be the heaviest track on the album. My Spidey senses are tingling and I can feel there's gonna be a track that's gonna just rocket the band into Haley's comet.

If you loved the ATT ATT album you will definitely love this track, it is a very similar sound to that release, and if you're more of a fan of their tracks such as 'Bully' and 'Cut The Cord' then not only is this track for you, but this entire album is going to send you back to 2011 Shinedown.

The Final Score

Once again, I might be a little biased as it's one of my all time favourite bands, but this album truly is something else and they're definitely on their way to reaching headline status.

We saw them in 2018 at Download Festival for the first time and again on tour with the beloved Alter Bridge, and if I'm honest they really do stand out from the rest. If you have not seen them yet, you are missing out. The band are set to perform at Download 2022, so be sure not to miss it!
