THE ISLAND'S NEW SINGLE "HYPERBOREAN" IS OUT NOW!

Manchester's Grunge Punk Metallers, The Island, released their brand new single "Hyperborean" on April 14th 2025.

THE ISLAND - HYPERBOREAN

Coming in hot off the heels of their first single "A Measure Of Monster", "Hyperborean" is a tonal departure heading in a much darker direction.  As always the band has chosen to keep the subject matter slightly mysterious, leaving it up to the listeners interpretation, however keen observers will surely find meaning in the tracks rather dystopian lyricism.

The band had this to say about the track:

"We could talk about what stresses and influences led us to write this song, but we prefer to let it speak for itself.  If you really want a clue, take a look at what's happening around you and ask yourself what you see."

Featuring driving basslines, emotionally resonant guitar interplay and frankly a stand out vocal performance from frontperson Ben Nicholson, HYPERBOREAN takes the foundation laid by A Measure Of Monster and makes a convincing case for a band with something to say.

THE ISLAND are quickly revealing themselves to be a quiet powerhouse of honest, raw song writing in the underground rock scene, and this track solidifies their status as a band to keep an eye on this year.

Novacaine Rating: 10/10

"Hyperborean" is a phenomenal follow-up to The Island's previous single, "A Measure of Monster." If their first track was monstrous, this one is downright beastly. With "Hyperborean," The Island turns up the intensity, delivering a sound that's even more raw and unrelenting. It's a powerful evolution that proves the band isn’t just living up to expectations — they’re surpassing them."
